Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State said the National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, was planning to destroy the party in the southeast of the country.

The governor made this allegation on the back of his suspension by the APC's National Working Committee (NWC) on Friday.

Politicngr reports that the ruling party National Working Group (NWC) suspended on Friday Okorocha and his colleague in Ogun, Ibikunle Amosun, about allegations of "anti-party activities".

The duo and the party leadership had fallen into quarrels after failing to secure the APC's governing tickets for their favorite candidates.

The governor said in a statement that all states governed by the governing party in the southeast were involved in crises due to the "fraudulent nature" in which Oshiomhole was conducting the party's primaries.

"He plays the politics of 2023 in 2019 and has thrown it with caution in the wind. There are crises and all the fraudulent ways in which he led the primaries in all southeastern states, "he said.

"In 2015, Governor Okorocha joined the merger, establishing APC at the risk of his second term, and was referred to as all sorts of unprintable names.

Nevertheless, he won the government elections. He brought together 24 of the 27 members of the House of Assembly for APC, two members of the House of Representatives and a senator.

"By 2019, Oshiomhole felt that such a man should be treated with contempt. He presented the Party's governorship card to Hope Uzodinma, who had never deposited his membership in the PDP on the floor of the Senate, as others did, and gave all sorts of weak apologies.

"And if Oshiomhole had been good especially for the people of APC and Imo, would he have given the party's ticket to a candidate facing five corruption allegations and been convicted of a travel ban to be a party candidate? ", Asked he.
