president Muhammadu Buhari has warned Nigerians against violence in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The leader of the nation declared that those who surrendered to violence can not escape the wrath of the law and advised citizens to be peaceful and to avoid political brawls.

Buhari spoke on Monday at the Women's Conference of the First African Church Mission, held in Begungung, Gada Biyu, in the local government of Zango Kataf, Kaduna State.

Represented by the Ambassador of Nigeria in the Republic of the Congo, Deborah Iliya, Buhari said, "I'm not an apostle of bloodshed, no, I'm not available for violence."

The President also urged women to take on their maternal roles in building good housing and the country in general.

Ambassador Iliya congratulated the Church on behalf of the President and said, "I believe that your prayers will give your leaders the power to make their many efforts to improve the lives and well-being of all Nigerians, regardless of their religious beliefs or beliefs.

"At the forefront of the current administration's agenda is ensuring adequate security for citizens. Since then, the President has demonstrated this by equipping various security agencies to act more efficiently.

The President has told me to tell you that he sees the life of man as sacrosanct and will do anything to protect his life and property. Try to live in peace and harmony and avoid anything that causes trouble.

"The president is a man of peace and bridge builder. Although misunderstood by many because of his fight against corruption, but very good for Nigeria, he is a respect for every religion and every tribe.

"Those who support and commit violence in the 2019 elections, no matter how influential they are, will stand by the law. Let me also say that Nigeria is our country, we have no other place called Nigeria.

"This land is not sacrificed on the altar of violence. Our youth are the leaders of tomorrow, and they must avoid any invitation they may use to use violence.

"If you prepare for the parliamentary elections, please come out and cast your votes. Do not exchange your Permanent Voter Cards for money. Your PVC is your power, come out, practice your franchise and make sure your vote counts. "
