Mercedes-Benz is working on the O-Class. What is the O class? It seems to be the best kept secret in the business today. The premium car manufacturer has registered several brands with the European Intellectual Property Office for a range of O-Class products.

It is not yet known what kind of products the O-Class will refer to, but AutoGuide reports that the file is labeled O 120, O 140, O 180 and O 200, with the three-digit numbers probably indicating smaller displacement machines Power consumption, z. B. 2.0 liter units or less.

The nameplates of the O-class were submitted on the 4thth February, in the category "Motor Vehicles & Motor Vehicle Engines", a category that includes passenger cars, SUVs, buses and trucks, which leads to great confusion among the fans.

The O-badge was previously used by Mercedes-Benz in terms of transport buses, as Citaro is sold in various markets under the category O-Class. The numbers after the letter would then make no sense. The current Citaro is referred to internally as O530.

If you choose "O" for the next model of the company, this could also indicate the positioning between the E- and the S-Class sedan. But it could just as well be under the company's buses, as it is an electrically autonomous person carrier, similar to that Vision URBANETIC, the vehicle that Mercedes-Benz presented at the Consumer Electronics Show last January.
