For the past four years, there has been an unprecedented competition in the sports car market. Mercedes-AMG to have I never agreed that their cast was outdated and so they released a new version of the AMG GT, The new AMG GT R Pro, which incorporates influences from its GT3 racing program, blurs the line between racing and road.

A new stability system, known as AMG Dynamics, provides more cornering and a faster response to changing conditions. There are three modes available in all versions of the AMG GT. The basic mode covers slippery and comfortable situations. Advanced is aimed at winding roads and allows a spirited driving. The Pro mode is only available in Sport + and is intended for riders who want to be on the sidelines. The master mode is only offered on the GT C and GT R and can only be called up in race mode.

  • Engine: 4.0L Twin Turbo V8

These different settings would not be worth much without a more powerful car. The new AMG GT R Pro is the result of lessons learned in the GT3 and GT4 races. It starts at all corners with a new thread spring. Compression and rebound are easily adjusted with each shock absorber via the shims. The former has individual answers for speed. Both pendulum rods are adjustable and the front is made of carbon fiber. All wishbones have ball joints instead of bushings, because when cornering no one likes muddy reactions.

A new carbon fiber under the rear suspension ensures consistent geometry and precision. Unfortunately, the computer-controlled hydromotor bearings remain an unnecessary luxury. Additional carbon fiber reinforcements are not visible, but the new aerodynamic parts are stunning. A lower front splitter together with fender valves produces more downforce. The rear spoiler has won a Gurney Flap, because Dan Gurney is a genius. This allowed AMG driver Maro Engel to round the ring in 7.04.632, making the AMG GT R Pro the fastest criminal AMG ever.
