President Muhammadu Buhari recommended the two chambers of the National Assembly for the speedy attention they paid to the new minimum wage rate.

The high-level special assistants of the President in questions of the National Assembly, Senator Ita Enang and Hon. Umar El-Yakub gave on Thursday in an interview with the journalists in the Assembly complex the award.

El-Yakub, who recently honored Hon. Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila as the president's SSA, said Buhari was pleased with the way in which both chambers began an immediate review of the law.

According to the president, the president commends the leadership and members of the National Assembly for the speedy reading of the minimum wage.

"It shows that legislators are ready to cooperate with President Buhari; and it is also a concern for the well-being of Nigerians, "he said.

The new SSA promised to work with the leadership of both chambers and to ensure a cordial relationship between the legislature and the executive.

In addition, Enang reiterated that the lawmakers' action was a "demonstration by lawmakers of the belief in President Muhammadu Buhari's government."
