Our spy photographers have done it Renault Clio of the fifth generation Tests in Sweden. We've been waiting for the new model for a long time and it seems like it's just around the corner.

Rather than developing a brand new platform for the new Clio, the French automaker will update the CMF architecture of the current car. However, updates to the current platform allow Renault to introduce a selection of new powertrains.

At the base of the gasoline range, a 0.9-liter turbocharger is set up, while above it are a handful of 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which are developed by Daimler and are available in various versions.

The flagship engine is a mild-hybrid pair that combines a 48-volt system with (most likely) one of the above-mentioned 1.3-liter turbo engines and a small electric motor. It remains to be seen whether this engine will also power the Renault Sport versions or whether Renault will choose another powertrain. These pictures of Reveal new Clio that the exterior design represents a dramatic departure from the current car and looks bigger at first glance than the current model – but that's probably just the cover-up that plays a trick on us. What we know for sure, is that design inspirations from both the current Megane and the Symbioz concept,

However, more important than the new design will be the autonomous level 2, making the next Clio the first in its class to have such a technology.

Renault was expected to unveil the brand-new Clio at the Paris Motor Show last September. This did not happen. A debut was then typed for January 2019, but was delayed after the Arrest of Director-General Carlos Ghosn, Therefore, the Geneva Motor Show in March is the most likely place for the start of the car.
